About Dr Linnane |

Dr Linnane is a consultant Respiratory and General Physician. He was educated at Belvedere College SJ and studied medicine at University College Dublin. After 6 years as a consultant at the Cardiff and Vale NHS Trust he returned to Ireland to practice at the Blackrock Clinic in 2008. Dr. Linnane provides inpatient and outpatient consultations for patients with respiratory and general medical problems at the Blackrock Clinic. While his practice includes the entire specialty of Adult General Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine in particular he has a specific clinical interest in lung cancer and interventional bronchoscopy. He was the first physician to perform endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), endobronchial photodynamic therapy (PDT) and autofluorescence bronchoscopy during his tenure in Wales. In Cardiff he carried out the first Medical Thoracoscopy procedure and with colleagues in the Thoracic Surgical Unit introduced an Endobronchial Stenting service. His research interests include; breathlessness, venous thromboembolism and hypoxia. Dr Linnane also acts as a medical expert in medico-legal cases. |
